The 751R's Anchor Bay ABT2010 scaler will coax 1080p Full HD detail out of even analogue video signals, but the amp also features a unique scaler bypass mode that improves picture quality by preventing "double-scaling" content that has already been upscaled externally (for instance on a Blu-ray player or PS3).


And as well as video upscaling, the 751R features audio upsampling. Detail from any audio source, from MP3s to high-end digital audio streams, can be boosted to up to 24-bit/192kHz better-than-CD-quality. Digital audio files from laptops etc. can also be upsampled via the asynchronous USB input, bypassing soundcards for maximum quality and delivering 24-bit/192kHz ultra-high-quality audio.

As well as comprehensive upscaling and upsampling capabilities, the 751R has the full range of top-end home cinema receiver features: 7.1 outputs (with option to run twin subs), two Texas Instruments 32-bit DSPs to support a broad range of surround formats and speaker layouts, and a comprehensive range of HDMI inputs and outputs. It also features our unique "Follow Main" Zone 2 option.


"Follow Main" lets you listen to the same digital source as is playing in the main room, in another room (most modern amps will only let you hear analogue sources elsewhere).

Another feature rarely found elsewhere for the 751R is DTS remapping. This lets you easily rephrase DTS-HD High Resolution and Master Audio format audio signals to your 7.1  speaker layout perfectly.

ATF upsampling
logo-upsamplingUsing proprietary Anagram Technologies, Swiss-engineered algorithms developed originally for high-end audiophile applications, this boosts audio quality from any source to 24-bit/192kHz, while minimising errors. What's so special about ATF upsampling? By using clever algorithms to plot sample points to a curve, rather than a straight line, the ATF system gets closer to natural soundwaves - it's crazy science, but it works brilliantly, delivering lower jitter levels, fewer timing errors and a more naturally clear sound.

Anchor Bay ABT2010 scaler
This video processor upscales any source, including analogue standard definition, to pin-sharp 1080p Full HD. The amp also uniquely features a "bypass" mode to improve picture quality by avoiding the common problem of "double scaling", where your Blu-ray player, PS3 or video streamer has already upscaled content once, and your receiver then scales it again.
DTS remapping
DTS-HD High Resolution and DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound formats do not support more than one standardised 7.1 home speaker layout. So, if your home speakers are arranged differently to the layout the soundtrack was recorded in, they can end up out of phase. But simply choose the 7.1 speaker arrangement that matches yours on the Azur 651R and 751R and the signal will be perfectly rephased.
Zone 2 with "Follow Main"
Most modern, surround sound home cinema receivers will let you run a second audio zone somewhere else in the house. You can listen to one piece of music in one room, while listening to something else in a second room. The catch? The second room can only use an analogue source for the audio. Of course, the 751R can do this too. But with its "Follow Main" mode, it can do something more - something unique to our receivers. In "Follow Main" two rooms can simultaneously receive the same digital audio signals, including the audio from HDMI.

Our near-silent cooling combination of funnelling heat through a heatsink and thermostatically-controlled fan means that our systems stay cool without delivering distracting noise. Only at moments of peak power use will the fan really be at full speed (and those moments, of course, will be when you won't be able to hear it).

ATF Upsampling in more detail…

751R makes digital audio sound amazing – drawing detail seemingly out of thin air. How?

Our unique ATF2 (Adaptive Time Filtering) upsampling technology, developed in conjunction with Anagram Technologies, Switzerland.

logo-upsamplingAll incoming audio data, such as CD at 16-bit 44.1kHz CD, is upsampled to 24-bit 192kHz using a high-end 32-bit Analog Devices DSP (Digital Signal Processor). "Polynomial Curve Fitting Interpolation" provides a much more accurate upsampled audio soundwave than traditional upsampling processes. And a unique timing system buffers audio data to almost eradicate digital jitter. Vital – as jitter, common in digital audio devices, loses vital detail, often leaving digital audio sounding flat and lifeless.



Our latest ATF2 DSP also features a selectable digital filter with three settings to suit listener preferences and their particular system set-up: 

• The Steep roll-off filter exhibits strong attenuation of aliasing images outside the pass band (i.e. above 22.05kHz) at the expense of a little pre and post-ringing in the time domain. 

• The Linear phase filter uniquely features ‘constant group delay’ which delays all audio signals at all frequencies by the same amount meaning all audio is fully time-coherent at the output.

• Minimum phase meanwhile does not feature constant group delay but rather the co-efficients have been optimised without feed-forward so that the impulse response exhibits no pre-ringing in the time domain.
