Building on the already impressive specification of the DVD77, this state-of-the-art DVD player incorporates a number of new technologies including a DVI-D output for connection to the latest types of screen, and DiVX playback for suitably encoded discs.

The DVD79’s DVI-D output allows for digital video transfer to the latest video displays, such as plasma, LCD screens and projectors, reducing interference and ensuring sharp detail and vivid colours. The DVD79's DVI-D output supports 480p, 576p, 720p and 1080i resolutions.

DiVX is the latest innovation in PC video, allowing high quality video to be compressed for easy downloading over the internet. The DVD79 is fully compatible with DiVX 3.11, 4, 5, DiVX Pro and XVID, as well as MP3 and Windows Media files, and plays back discs recorded in these formats to a high standard.

The DVD79 also offers excellent audio performance. It implements Meridian Lossless Packing and has a Crystal CS4360 DAC for high quality CD and DVD-Audio reproduction. The DVD79 can also decode Dolby Digital surround soundtracks via the six channel analogue out.

A brand-new solid aluminium front panel houses controls for all primary functions and a clear information display. A full function remote control comes as standard.
