The 20th Annual November HiFi Show took place at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Manila from the 11th to 12th November.
Our partner of four years, Toyama made a big splash with no fewer than five rooms on the main floor of the hotel, demonstrating a range of products.
In the Cambridge room, the main setup included an Edge W stereo amplifier connected to an Edge NQ pre-amp network player. We also included the Alva TT V2 direct drive turntable as a source into our high-end system.
Celebrating the physical format in partnership with Tambai Records, customers could flick through classic albums to purchase the next vinyl for their collection, then enjoy it on the amazing Alva TT V2 in the room. For customers who prefer digital audio, our second system was the Evo 150 all-in-one with the new Evo CD transport.
No matter your generation or preference, customers could enjoy their favourite music on a Cambridge system and experience the Great British Sound.
Australia
Addicted To Audio is now widely regarded as Australasia’s premier streaming, DAC, desktop audio, headphone and hi-fi destination, so we were delighted to celebrate our new partnership with BusiSoft at the flagship store in Melbourne.
Addicted to Audio know that passionate spark in the eyes of customers when they hear the perfect sound. They built their stores from the ground up as bespoke experience centres for enthusiasts and newcomers alike. They are a diverse, customer-orientated team, united by a passion for music.
The guest list for the event included local bespoke dealers selling lifestyle products, industry leaders from major restaurants, bloggers, podcasters and the mainstream media. Customers first enjoyed food and drinks in the main entrance (alongside another British icon, the Mini), before being taken around three floors of the building for different demonstrations.
These included Edge NQ and Edge Ms with PMC Speakers, a home cinema setup using Min12 speakers, Evo 150 with Dynaudio speakers, and Edge A and Edge NQ with Dynaudio speakers. These were the main demo areas but around the shop were additional Evo 150 and CX demonstrations running background music.
Thailand
At the beginning of October, we began a new partnership with T.E.K Marketing in Thailand to distribute Cambridge. They are an established distributor based in Bangkok since 2000 and have now expanded to include us and Monitor Audio.
T.E.K Marketing put together an event to celebrate the new partnership with us and Monitor Audio at Sala Sudasiri Sobha concert hall. It was designed by Nat Yontararak, a pianist who first trained as an architect from Chulalongkorn University. This concert hall was built with a vision to create a place where performers and audiences can be one through music. The acoustics of the hall were carefully calculated in order to find the right design to project the sound beautifully and warmly. Having a musician design this hall makes it one of the best acoustic halls in Thailand
The guestlist included high profile customers for Piyanas, YouTubers, bloggers and mass media, with a special guest appearance from a local pop star to perform at the end.
For the event the team recorded R2 (who perform in orchestras around the world and for major movie soundtracks by Hans Zimmer) live in the venue. On the night they performed first then used the Edge NQ and Edge Ms to play the track they laid down – demonstrating the unfiltered and unadulterated quality of the Edge range. Following the demonstration there was a Q&A with the host about the technologies we use in Edge.
