After reading and watching so many rave reviews, I expected the Evo One to be much better than it is. I am having a difficult time getting it tuned to the way I like. The mids are very forward and the highs seem limited. The bass is very good and it has more of a punch than I expected (yes, I am aware of the room correction settings and the 7-band EQ).
It's difficult to justify the cost when a pair of $500 speakers and a $300 streaming amp blows the sound of this out of the water. The style fits in perfect for the room I have it in, where separate speakers would stand out and be an eyesore. Which was my main motivation for purchasing the Evo One. The sound it puts out is amazing, given it's size, but I still expected better for the price and Cambridge Audio's excellent reputation. Aufgrund von Nachwuchs musste ich kurze Hand auf etwas kleineres umsteigen und wer sonst als Cambridge Audio käme für mich in Frage, zumal Optik / Design und Qualität von großer Wichtigkeit sind. Hier punktet der EVO one in allen Bereichen. Super verarbeitet und optisch ein Augenschmaus. Ich hätte mir jedoch tatsächlich eine austauschbare Oberfläche wie beim 150/ 75er gewünscht.
Die Fernbedienung hingegen, leider billiger Plastik.
Kommen wir aber nun zu dem was den EVO one ausmacht.
Kein großer Schnickschnack, anschließen mit dem Internet verbinden und Sound genießen.
Das macht der EVO one ordentlich aber nicht überzeugend. Mit hoher zunehmender Lautstärke verliert sich der Ton im Raum, der Druck/ Bass geht dabei gänzlich verloren, geht schon ins brummen über.
Hierbei habe ich wirklich auf einen SubOut Anschluss gehofft, warum Cambridge fehlt dieser wichtige Anschluss ? Ein Phono Anschluss hat es immerhin geschafft. Nichts desto trotz spielt er vor allem im unteren Bereich ordentlich, klar und ohne zu verzehren, bei Musik wohlgemerkt.
Fürs filme schauen ist der gute jedoch nicht konzipiert, hier fehlt einfach der Tiefgang und die Dynamik, definitiv besser als TV Sound jedoch absolut nicht mit einer klassischen Soundbar zu vergleichen.
Kurze Hand, wer auf Optik und super Qualität viel wert legt und ab und zu mal ein paar Musikstücke laufen lassen möchte mit einer mäßigen Lautstärke ist hier bestens bedient.
Alle anderen die ein bissel mehr erwarten für ca. 1500€ sollten definitiv auf das Klassische 2. 1 / 2. 0 setzen.
Zu guter Letzt, ein Update einer Uhrzeit Anzeige im Standby wäre fantastisch liebes Cambridge Team.

I received the Evo One earlier this afternoon. Took 10 minutes from the box to playing Tidal tunes. That first song was breathtaking. How they managed that sound out of a single diminutive box. . .
What they say about the remove not being "Fancy enough" is true but doesnt mean anything. The app controls the device and handles all the navigation of the streaming service.
Aside from the incredible sound, the device is gorgeous. I can't wait to have people over to listen and ogle at it.
If you are even thinking about it, go for it!
