If you own a CD collection you’re going to need something to play it on. Our range of CD players are designed to extract every last detail from your discs.
Digital audio is brilliant, but it needs to be analogue audio before you can hear it. A Digital to Analogue Converter (DAC) lets all kind of systems sound better than before.
Many turntables need a bit of extra help to amplify the tiny signals output by vinyl recordings. A good phono-preamplifier can reveal previously unheard detail.
A Stereo Receiver is an amplifier with built in radio capabilities - usually AM/FM, although some also have DAB. Place it at the heart of any two-channel system.
For many, the analogue sound remains as compelling as ever, and our turntables make it as easy as possible to enjoy your record collection.
Engineered to deliver. Advanced features, bold designs and the best sound money can buy.
DACMAGICXS
The DacMagic XS USB Digital to analogue converter (DAC)/ headphone amp is an instant upgrade to any computer’s sound output. It connects quickly and easily to any USB port and allows you to hear your favourite music and movies with every drop of detail, exactly as the artist intended.
Whilst your computer might be great for spreadsheets and emails, it’s not at all that good at processing sound. That’s why our engineers designed our award winning DacMagic XS to instantly upgrade the sound output from your laptop. Just plug it into the USB connection of your computer or Mac for incredible, detailed high resolution audio.
DacMagic XS delivers up to 10 times more power than most laptop soundcards. The headphone output from most laptops only outputs about 15-20mW, meaning weak bass and a lack of depth. The DacMagic XS however can output a massive 105mW for proper depth and volume that will drive the very best headphone set ups hard, with detailed sound and amazing bass. The volume available is easily adjusted on the simple fingertip controls and an LED shows the sample rate, so you always know you’re getting the right level of clarity and detail from your tracks.
We know you won’t want to be without it, so we machined the DacMagic XS’s lightweight but hardwearing chassis from aluminium, for a total weight of just 100g.
The DacMagic XS is available in 5 stunning nishes, Titanium, Red, Gold, Blue and all Black. Take your pick.
When running in USB Class 2 mode, the DacMagic XS can also use our dedicated Windows USB Class 2 USB driver (driver not required for Apple computers). This allows you to bypass the computer operating system’s poor audio path, preventing unwanted interference. You don’t need to put up with bad sound from a laptop, ever again.

An average HP Pavillion laptop running both iTunes and foobar highrez tracks into a pair of AKG K550 MKIII.
Plug the cans straight into the laptop and you are rewarded with poor definition, woeful clarity, distortion and a generally unrefined grainy and rough sound.
Not good, in fact so bad that after ripping a cd into iTunes I chose to listen using an iPod into headphones, where sound quality is actually quite good but lacks sufficient gain to energise and sufficiently drive the akg's.
Cambridge audio Dacmagic XS: Introduce this little baby into the chain and it totally transforms the sound, its literally nothing like the previous pitiful efforts. Amazing!!!...especially when you consider it sounds equally good when listening between high Res and anything I've ripped into apple lossless. iTunes copies of my CDs have never sounded so interesting and just plain listenable. I've listened to many dacs and none are as good as this. Buy one.
I have tried many dac that are for office use and I could not reach anything like this one. I have been buying and selling DAC'S for a while until I got to this one. Has and amazing sound. Good clarity, bass, and details. I wish it has a screen so I would know where I am on the volume level, but other than that it is very well recommended.
The DACMAGIC was plugged into the USB socket of a computer with a 'doubtful quality' sound card. The impact is immediate. Crisp detail in the sound presence, solid bass and total control of the volume output. It is used demonstrating Audio Visual sequences in a large hall and secondly is connected into my music system at home when operated from the computer.

Working from home I realized that my Bowers & Wilkins headphones really didn't sound that great. I knew it wasn't the headphones so it had to be the source my firm issues computer. I didn't want to mess with the computer too much and wanted a simple plug-n-play solution. This is is, once the drivers are downloaded my headphones came back to life, the detail, separation, and stage just sound incredible. I'm not sure how anything beats this thing, especially with the volume control which I absolutely love. I know that this is a bit long in the tooth and I sincerely hope that Cambridge Audio replace it in the future. I'm planning on buying a second unit to use with the Harmon Kardon Soundsticks which have also come to life. This is absolutely the best bang for my buck.
