Premium Standmount Speakers
We’ve combined radical technology and classic styling to produce a completely new type of speaker design. The Aero 2 features a 2.25” BMR® driver and a 6” woofer for fantastically clear, natural and coherent audio.
By replacing the traditional tweeter with a BMR (Balanced Mode Radiator) driver, the Aero 2 offers a radical difference in audio quality compared to its rivals. Using the BMR shifts the crossover point between tweeter and woofer away from the usual 3kHz, right at the middle of the human ear's most sensitive hearing range, to a less problematic 250Hz. The result is a more natural, immersive and coherent sound. The BMR® driver construction also delivers a more room-filling sound. This makes them ideal for modern homes and room layouts where speakers might not end up placed optimally for traditional stereo audio.
You can place the Aero 2 where you want and still get great stereo and surround effects. Aero cabinets are designed not only to look classic, discreet and stylish, but also are constructed using CAD techniques and critical bracing to minimise distortion and maximise audio quality.
As well as offering a more coherent sound at the top end, moving to a 250Hz crossover between BMR® and traditional drivers and subwoofers offers advantages at the bottom end too. Aero cone drivers and subwoofers are specifically designed to complement the BMR™ drivers - producing cinematic, immersive sound with sumptuous and accurate bass.

"Vast soundstage; good scale; authority and dynamics; competative price."
Winner of Soundstage Product of the Year 2014 - "Can you get better sound for less money than the $549 a pair of Cambridge Aero 2s will cost you? I don’t know, but at that price, how can you go wrong? Doug Schneider was super-impressed by these, and that’s not something that’s easily done -- he gets a lot of good speakers in for review."
“Cambridge Audio has been brave here. It has pushed what is still a new technology into a relatively conservative part of the market, and come up with a package to challenge the best around.”
"This speaker delivered oodles of detail, a chunky bottom end and texture of the sort rarely heard at this price."
"It displays a far more couth, civilised and polished performance than its price would suggest... With so few flaws and so much to love, this little loudspeaker just gets on with the job of making music in an enjoyable yet inoffensive way."
The Vinyl Factory
"That unusual flat driver at the top, a BMR, helps to balance the sound. It handles treble and most of the midrange, giving the driver at the bottom a break, allowing it to concentrate mostly on bass, meaning that the midrange sound is effortless and easy."
Home Cinema Choice
"The BMR drivers help deliver a big, cohesive 5.1 soundstage that fills a room better than most packages at this price, while its considerable muscle will leave you invigorated and entertained."
BBC Music Magazine
"a fine, detailed pair of speakers that will do justice to more or less any music you care to play on them"
"The Aero 2 is a bold piece of engineering by Cambridge Audio. Its BMR unit provides an expansive soundstage that is unrivalled at the price."
“Aero’s fantastic 5.1 speakers deliver the most immersive and cohesive soundstage we’ve heard at this price.”
"Just in case you hadn't noticed then, I love the new Cambridge Audio Aero 2s; they're an exotic little loudspeaker that's simply not built in quite the same way as its rivals - and for good reason. The result is an extremely open and seamless sound."
