Happy New Year from Cambridge Audio's MD, Stuart George

As we wrap up another year at Cambridge Audio, we’d like to thank all the listeners who’ve enjoyed our products this year. Whether you’re a seasoned audiophile, or new to the delights of quality listening, we hope you’re having fun and enjoying your purchase.

We’ve launched several new products this year, from new Melomania true wireless headphones to our first all-in-one players in Evo. We’re delighted to see them winning awards across the world, from What Hi-Fi? to the EISA Awards – we couldn’t be prouder. This has been our strongest year yet and that’s down to the support of you guys, so thank you again.

On the other hand, as with many industries, as a business we’ve also faced many challenges this year and for every one of us of course the pandemic continues. At such times, we all appreciate the comfort that music can provide.

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry recently conducted a study of 43,000 music fans in 21 countries, 80% of whom acknowledged that music supported their emotional wellbeing during these Covid times.

In our opinion music is undervalued. In many ways it’s taken for granted, because it’s ever-present.

It surrounds us in our everyday lives; we hear it in our homes, the car, at work, at the shops, in restaurants, and many more places. It’s quite literally everywhere. In many of these places, music serves a purpose beyond entertainment, simply because music has such power over our moods and behaviour.
All of us have been moved by a particular song touching us at the right moment.

We’re a company of music lovers – many in our team are accomplished musicians or have carefully curated vinyl collections. For each of us, music is an obsession. We can’t imagine a single day without it.

At Cambridge Audio, we talk about “enriching life through exceptional sound”. We want your music to sound the best it can, so that it can enrich your life, whatever is going on in it. That’s why we do what we do. We design and engineer products that will enable you listen to your music as it’s meant to be heard, offering Great British Sound with nothing added, nothing taken away. We’ve been doing it for over 50 years now, and plan on doing it for at least 50 more.
Personally, I’m in awe of the way that music can move me. So, as we come to the end of the year, I want to encourage you to take some time to enjoy music for music’s sake.

Put on your favourite record – or try someone else’s album of the year choice – and really take the time to listen to it without distractions.
See how it makes you feel. It really is a beautiful thing.

To all our listeners, we wish you a happy and healthy New Year and look forward to joining you for more music in 2022!

With all our best wishes

Stuart George for the Cambridge Audio team
