CXC

A dedicated CD transport

Designed specifically to do one thing only. The CXC spins CDs and retrieves the audio data with perfect precision so you can hear things that you’ve never heard before in tracks you’ve heard 100 times. And thanks to its all-digital outputs it works in perfect harmony with our CXA60 and CXA80 integrated amplifiers.

SPINS YOUR DISCS WITH PERFECTION

At the heart of the CXC is our legendary ‘S3’ servo design. Designed for efficient recovery of CD digital data with state of the art error correction it’s been engineered to play audio CDs brilliantly. Multi-purpose drives simply can’t compete. The design was actually developed for our flagship 851C CD player, giving minimal disc jitter and excellent error correction for the most precise and accurate playback of CDs.

DIGITAL OUTPUTS

With no digital to analogue conversion in the CXC, when used in conjunction with the CX Series amplifiers it outputs the CD signal in digital form, relying on the high quality Wolfson DAC in the CXA amplifier for the crucial digital to analogue conversion stages. The result is layers of detail and clarity from your disc collection that you’ve never heard before.

ALL METAL DESIGN

Electronics (and therefore sound quality) are particularly susceptible to vibration; that’s why we’ve used a low resonance, acoustically-dampened metal chassis to eliminate as much vibration as possible; ensuring that the highest sound quality is extracted from your music.

I've bought the cxc transport 2 years ago. I've connected it to a Mark Levinson 36 DAC through a dedicated silver cable. A good couple, also if ML trasport + ML Dac is another thing! (but also another price!)

Purchased this on a great deal with Richer Sounds to give my large CD collection a special treat and am running it through the CXU Universal players DAC (yeah i know it plays CD's but like i said special treat!) Well worth every penny, more detail, more overall spaciousness to the sound and yes i'm basically hearing stuff on discs i've owned since the late eighties better than ever before.

This transport is just awesome, a real giant killer. I listen through headphones exclusively,it's better than the more expensive musical fidelity and absolutely destroyed the Roksan oxygene in sound quality. For me it ticks all the boxes, not only does it sound good but as I have poor eyesight the simplicity of use is a god send.I love the fact that it still uses a cd tray and that the remote has raised buttons, this allows me to easily navigate the player in low light. But above all else it's the sound that impresses, not a day goes by when it doesn't delight me.

Just bought a CXC to go with the DACMagic I bought last year. Been using the DAC with streamed audio and files from my MAC, which sounded good, but I can't believe how good CDs sound with the CXC/DAC combination. So clear, such a wide frequency range, so precise. Using with QUAD 34/306 and Linn Keilidhs, which has always been good, but now sounds better. Great value piece of kit!
