The Great British Music - From Our Video

The guys you see rehearsing in the studio at 0:51 and then again at 3:12 are three members of Dirty Mirror Traits; Robbie Blake, Adam Banbridge, and James Rigby. The track played was actually just them jamming as we took some nice live nostalgia shots but they normally make and perform very energetic rock and cite Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures and Led Zeppelin as influences. Give them a listen here.

The next track you hear is the James Brown enthused soul track starting at 1:32. It’s by Terry Devine-King, one of the world’s leading composers in television and advertising, & Steve Levine, Grammy and Brit award-winning producer who’s worked with acts including Gary Moore, The Beach Boys and Cutting Crew. The track is called ‘Right here right now’ and we picked it for its vintage authenticity that worked perfectly with the era in the clip. In-fact, every part of the recording process in the track used authentic equipment from the 60’s and 70’s so it really does sound true to the British Sound!

At 2:15 we see our 70’s rocker flip on a vinyl and a sturdy guitar riff rolls out into the record store. This track is from a fantastic rock band The Prognosis from Dorking Surrey - a group of five 50-something year olds who play tribute songs from the prog era including Pink Floyd, Genesis, Camel and Yes. Their musicianship is uncanny to the originals and their live show is truly reminiscent for anyone who went to see those bands back in the day. The guys now write a few songs themselves and we picked their track ‘Here is the News’ for its iconic riff and prog-tastic synth. Give the full version a listen here and check out when they’re playing next.

The next two tracks, the 80’s punk madness and the 90’s flowing house, were both created especially for us by gifted producer and overall content creator SWWAN. He produces bespoke music for lots of different brands and also makes some of his own stuff on the side (hopefully to be released!). For the punk clip he actually recorded the vocals live through a guitar amp with the gain on full to get a really rugged punk screech. He’s been a friend of ours for a while now and also wrote and recorded the music in our Netil360 installation video - what a widely talented chap!

And then there’s the stunning finale track that fades in at 3:19. It’s from  instantly likeable Max Pope. Brighton born singer/songwriter Max has seen waves of critical acclaim come his way in the past 12 months or so. From being named as one of Spotify UK’s “Ones To Watch” in 2016, to gaining praise and support from the likes of Stereogum, The Line Of Best Fit, Wonderland Magazine and many more.

We love ‘All That I Need’ for its genre defying yet musically assured delivery. It’s perfect for the end of our video as it’s what we’re all about; some great British talent and a pure, natural recording. You can listen to some more of his lovely music here.
