Our new AXN10 network player can breathe new life into your system – opening up the world of Hi-Res music for you. It slots seamlessly into an AX system, taking you beyond your prized collection of discs. There are stacks of free services, like internet radio, as well as the well-known premium ones – many offer free trials. Thanks to our streaming know-how, you’ll be able to enjoy high-quality music easily from a variety of sources via our app.
AXN10 runs off of our latest StreamMagic Gen 4 module and software. It’s a system that we developed ourselves in London for no-compromise, rock-solid, hi-fi music streaming. It’s intuitive to use and is capable of playing music with incredible clarity – up to both 768KHz 32bit PCM and DSD512 (it’s all you’ll need!).
The convenience of streamed music was once let down by its sound quality, and accessibility. That’s no longer the case, thanks to faster broadband speeds, better CODECs, a wider choice of service, and now because AXN10 brings our acclaimed StreamMagic streaming platform within reach of many more people.
AXN10 can access free and subscription hi-res streaming services, like internet radio, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Qobuz and Deezer all built-in for best sound quality. With Apple Airplay2 and Chromecast built-in, you can access Apple Music, BBC Sounds and more. AXN10 is also Roon Ready, so can consolidate your digital music listening, regardless of source, into a single magazine-style service.
It’s just like radio, only it comes via the internet rather than by airwaves. You can listen to your existing favourite broadcast stations, specialist internet only ones (like Soho Radio and NTS), alongside many more from around the world – all free. Who knows what that indie show from New Zealand has instore for you? Plus many stations are at a quality way beyond digital radio.
If a friend pops round, who’s not got the StreamMagic app, they can share their latest tunes with you, via Bluetooth. Alternatively, if they have some exclusive hi-res FLAC files on USB stick, you can listen together on your hi-fi system simply by plugging the drive into AXN10’s rear USB port.
One of the challenges of being a music fan can be where to store your collection – another’s the price some of those re-mastered limited editions, with a handful of ‘must-have’ tracks. With AXN10 you can get the best of both worlds: hear the music in incredible hi-res quality, and have no worries about where to squeeze the box-set in.
Interacting with AXN10 couldn’t be easier. Our StreamMagic app allows intuitive control of all connected sources – to curate playlists, set presets or browse albums conveniently from your mobile or tablet. Alternatively, there’s a handful of neat buttons on AXN10’s sleek fascia to give direct access to your favourite playlists or internet radio stations.
Spin AXN10 around and you’ll notice the neat, upside-down writing over the terminals – this makes it easy when leaning over to connect it up to your amp. There’s analogue RCA phono out, digital coax and optical out, USB in, plus a pair of wi-fi antenna for your network – or a LAN cable input if you prefer.
Like the rest of AX Series, AXN10 shares our house-style of Lunar Grey minimalist aluminium fascia, black steel cabinet and ‘floating’ base to create a sleek timeless look. In the classic 430mm hi-fi width AXN10 can slot easily, and breathe new life, into an AX system. Thanks to over-air updates, AXN10 will also be streaming for many years to come.

The AXN10 is superb. Sound quality is excellent and the StreamMagic app works really well. I have had the usual HomePods and Echo Studios for a number of years, so wasn’t too sure how much better the AXN10 would be. I am stunned. Sound quality, coincidentally via CA amp, is far superior to the 'smart' speakers that theoretically auto-adjust to their environment. The AXN10 is a welcome reawakening after years of dumbed-down streamed listening.

I was looking for a way to modernise my bedroom setup, by having Chromecast and Roon Ready. My first thought was Cambridge Audio, as I am the lucky owner of an Edge Reference system, and I was drawn to their new releases, the MXN10 and AXN10.
Upon investigation, I found that both units were identical in features and flexibility, with the AXN10 being full-width and the MXN10 being a more compact design. As such, both suited my needs exactly, due to their inclusion of Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Roon Ready endpoint, support for Spotify Connect, Tidal and Qobuz, as well as Bluetooth 5 and USB connectivity.
As my Arcam SR250 is full-width, I went for the AXN10 and am so pleased with the result.
The functionality that has been added to this base model A Series component is astonishing, as it includes many elements that have made the CXN products so successful. With these new additions to their foundation range, I see Cambridge Audio reaffirming its commitment to offer both value and quality to all levels of consumer. The performance is excellent and rarely seen at these highly competitive price points, and I truly believe the AXN10 sends a strong message to the industry, that this year Cambridge Audio are serious about their customers, their products and their future.
Dear CustomerWe are really elated to hear that the AXN 10 was able to keep up with your expectations and provides an all-around solution to your requirements.
Thank you for writing such a complimentary and brief review of the product. At Cambridge Audio we try to make products that include all the necessary features on an economic budget. We hope that it adds a whole new dimension to your listening experience.Kind Regards

Anything which is software controlled always brings a level of pessimism. I have only had to reboot it thrice. Which when levelled against daily use for three months, is hardly inconvenient. The app works very well. It won’t turn a pigs ear into a silk purse, but a carefully selected source material will bring out the best of this unobtrusive box.
My simple A and B comparisons were done with a streamed station through the MXN10 and their DAB and FM broadcasts via a receiver. Only BBC radio 3 FM was on par with the streamed version. Despite my early scepticism I am thoroughly impressed with all aspects of this piece of kit. Well done Cambridge.
