AXR100
With 100 watts of power and FM/AM tuner too, AXR100 is an amp to be taken seriously – thanks to an integrated phono stage for easy connection of a turntable, and Bluetooth to play music wirelessly from a smartphone. Dedicated subwoofer output for driving bass, and two sets of speaker outputs add to R100’s appeal. While plenty of sockets front and rear build on that versatility.
AXR100 is a powerful receiver aimed at listening to music, and appreciating how it’s been recorded, from a variety of sources – including its own integrated tuner. Hi-fi separates like AXR100 are designed to take a signal, amplify it and output to your speakers. Choose speakers to suit your own taste – this powerful unit certainly gives you options.
With all the talk of streaming, it’s sometimes easy to forget the simple pleasure of radio. Turn it on, and it just works. With AXR100 you can programme up to 40 favourite stations and retrieve them, without having to re-scan. Station information, thanks to RDS, is shown on the white LED dot matrix display.
A built-in phono stage is one of many aces up AXR100’s sleeve. You can plug a turntable straight into the rear sockets without any extra kit. Moving magnet compatibility means it works with a wide range of turntables – including that vintage one you’ve always wanted to dust off. Soon you’ll be playing the records you already own and planning the next purchases.
Thanks to integrated Bluetooth 5.0, it’s simple to play music from your phone, laptop, or other compatible device on AXR100. It’s a great way for friends to share music with you, helping you to discover new favourite albums – before you splash out on a vinyl copy.
AXR100 is a very well-connected receiver, with 3 pairs of analogue RCA inputs, moving magnet phono section for a turntable and a pair of recording outputs. There’s a single digital coax in, as well as 2 optical connectors. Hi-fi quality speaker binding posts (connectors), for 2 sets of speakers, mean that thick cable connects securely for an authentic sound.
As with the rest of the AX Series, AXR100 shares our house-style of Lunar Grey minimalist fascia, black steel cabinet and ‘floating’ base. This timeless look allows for an upgrade path through our range. A relatively slim build, in the classic 430mm hi-fi width, also means that AXR100 can easily slot into a much-loved system.
I have had this receiver for almost a week now. First thing I noticed was the build quality of the metal cover is much sturdier then any receiver I have ever owned. The set up was an easy process. Functions on the front as well as the remote are good. Sound is warm and full. Very natural and neutral sounding. I am using Tekton Reference Lore speakers with an Outlaw Audio powered sub. I added an external DAC for my apple products. I really have no complaints. I am very happy with this product so far.
I recently bought this to replace a collection of gear in a desktop set up where it drives some KEF LS50s, and more frequently my Senhieser 650hds. It was hard to find much info out prior to purchase regarding the headphone amp. I can say after a few days that I love it for that! I replaced a Schiit Audio Valhalla 2 headphone amp with upgraded tubes, a Cambridge DAC magic 100, a Schiit Audio phono preamp. The sound signature is warm, silky and enjoyable and I just never get tired of listening! On the speaker side, this replaced an old school Adcom 555 amp and while that had way more juice, it was just too in your face for a near field set up. The AXR100 drives the LS50s beautifully for my application and I'm sure it hasn't broken in yet. For me the elimination of so many components and therefore simplyfing my set up for such a reasonable price has been fantastic. The DAC sounds better to me than the DAC Magic did and the phono in sounds on par with and maybe a little smoother than the Schiit it replaced. You're getting a lot for your money on these new AXR units. Don't hesitate!
Great sound for something in this price range. I have paired axr100 with Taga Platinum F100 v.2 and it’s sounds great. Set is not the most expensive set so I didn’t expect anything more from what I can hear. Bluetooth connection is more than great. Flax files from Tidal gives great sound when playing both through Bluetooth or from my Smart tv.

I went into this purchase with good, not great, expectations. I have always liked the warmer side of neutral when listening. I was coming from a vintage set of nakamichi amps that sounded fantastic. The old naks gave out on me, so I decided to jump on this. WOW! This amp sounds every bit as good and better than the naks, with tighter bass and more separation. The soundstage and imaging are great for an amp this price! This feels and sounds like an amp 3 times as much. I needed a phono input, this has a great phono stage. Everyone that has listened to it has been impressed. I have done multiple 4 hour listening sessions and I do not get ear fatigue at all..if you are on a budget and are looking to enter the audiophile game do not hesitate on this amp.
