There’s a complete purity of purpose to CXC. It’s built to read the digital audio information on CDs with absolute accuracy and consistency. It then passes that signal on to a DAC, like our DacMagic 200M or the high-quality DACs found in CX amplifiers. Each component in CXC is focused on performing this task with precision.
Precision Driving
The disc drive in CXC was originally designed by our engineers for our high-end CD players. The renowned S3 Servo is no multi-purpose disc drive. By spinning audio CDs at the exact speed required for data retrieval, it provides CXC with award-winning sonic precision and stability.
Let’s Get Physical
CXC benefits from an acoustically dampened metal chassis. It ensures that external forces don’t interfere with the digital signal. CXC has a choice of S/PDIF digital outputs – one coax, the other optical. Pick the one that best suits your DAC, be that a standalone unit or one integrated into an amplifier.
Complete Control
CXC comes with a remote control, so you can choose exactly what to listen to. And all CX Series remotes can control every CX component, so you only need one device handy for key commands. Alternatively, use the controls on the front of CXC.

Very great sound and good music experience.
But with many of my former CDs the sounds cracks and some tracks skips.
I found out that this doesn't happens with new CDs.
I have taken care in the past of my CDs using good material and keeping them clean.
Does this means that I can only use the CXC with new CDs?
Does this means I have to buy back new CDs of most of my formers CDs? This would be very annoying.

This CD-Transport is very good sounding and very nice built. Its Clear, precise, accurate and transports the emotion of Music. But i think the Display is too small and not bright enough and during the day you dont see much; this was solved better in every CD-Player i used in the last 25 Years (Sony Esprit CDP-X505ES, Naim CD5 i, Marantz CD 63 and some NAD). So, for Sound and Quality i give 5 Stars... but one minus for the poor Display. My wish :Just change next generation...use a bigger, brighter display...and it will be perfect

Nice CD transport but seems very picky on reading even brand new CD's. I am hoping that this reluctance to read some CD's on the first load is just because it's new. I have loaded 4 different brand new out of the package CD's that needed to be reloaded several times before it would read them. These same CD's load first time on other CD players in the house. I wish I knew how to see if there was an alignment error with the unit.

Mi occorreva una meccanica CD senza DAC perché volevo utilizzare quello presente nel mio amplificatore/streamer di rete. Dopo un po' di ricerche e confronti con amici appassionati di Hi-Fi mi sono deciso ad acquistare Cambridge Audio CXC v2 Black UK/EU e, dopo averlo collegato con un buon cavo coassiale da 75 Ohm, sono entusiasta della scelta fatta!!!!! Riproduzione impeccabile, gapless e (con mia somma sorpresa) legge ance i dati CD-Text se presenti sul supporto inserito!!
