Edge A is made to celebrate musicality. Riffs, phrases, percussive rolls – take in every detail of your music thanks to its dynamic setup. Effortlessly powerful, but with incredible depth, the overall sound is breath-taking – like you’re sat in the recording booth with the musicians.
Edge A is designed to bring musical detail to life. It delivers a finely balanced sound with a depth and clarity that come through with every note. We developed the system by ear, testing every component and only choosing those that blew us away. The end result is a ground-breaking arrangement that produces a much cleaner signal path and lets your music breathe. Edge A perfectly delivers our classic British sound – nothing added, nothing taken away.
We pioneered the use of toroidal transformers in amplifiers, which led to improved performance. In Edge we take this one step further, using opposing symmetry twin toroidal transformers. This cancels out electromagnetic interference whilst offering outstanding power and maintaining consistent tonality, no matter how loud it’s played.
Using standard Class A amplifier technology wasn’t going to be efficient enough for Edge A. Instead we added a bias voltage to a traditional Class AB design, reducing distortion to inaudible levels. This unique configuration also produces less heat and makes the whole system much more effective.
Pair any Bluetooth device to your Edge A to easily stream your music. With aptX HD support, you can play your audio at up to 24-bit/48kHz quality for an incredibly rich listening experience.
Edge A was designed with a unique PCB. Our engineers replaced conventional capacitors with a DC coupled topology and also added a solid-state volume control. The end result is a clean signal path that’s perfectly balanced at any volume.
Edge systems are designed to work in perfect synchronisation. Match the performance of Edge A with loudspeakers to make the foundations of a hi-fi system unlike anything else.

Had my Edge A for a month or so. Never thought I would be dipping my toe in this pool but my CXA80 was so impressive for the money that I just wondered what they could do with the reigns off. An incredible amount is the answer.
You just get everything, perfectly weighted at every frequency. Beautiful clarity that’s never harsh or fatiguing. Edge A gives you so much music. Reviewers have expressed it so much better, all I can say is, I now listen to music at every opportunity and feel like a child in a sweet shop with my collection.
It’s with some trepidation that one buys a piece of equipment offering neither balance or eq adjustment. Coming from the sub $1k world i just assumed they’d be there. When you listen to the Edge A you almost laugh at how irrelevant those concerns are.
Reviewers often caveat that such revealing electronics make poor recordings unpleasant to listen to. Whilst there’s some truth in that, I find the Edge A brings as much life to these recordings as it is possible to do so. You still find treasure! Goodness, I have 128 mp3s (I know) from back in the day that sound pretty marvelous too. If it don’t sound good on the Edge it ain’t gonna sound good on anything!
I’ve heard nothing in the last month that isn’t better in every way than I’ve ever heard it before and that makes for a big big smile. Many reviewers have commented on the great value offered with this piece, that it punches above its weight and genuinely gives food for thought for those with a significantly bigger budget. I have no reason to doubt that. This really could be my end game, the quality of the build is such that it should give many years service.
With the Edge A I’m running Elac Adante AS61’s and dual SVS SB1000 subs.
I could not be happier with my purchase. Thank You Cambridge
Yes, Yes, Yes! I have EDGE NQ and A. NQ is mistake! All function only by app. It's incredible stupid idea! But EDGE A is fantastic sound, fantastic look. A sell my old audio setup and buy EDGE from Cambridge. Why? Pure sound, excellent dynamic and more power for my speaker (KEF REFERENCES). Yes I recommend this product. No recommendation NQ (mistake, incredible mistake!)
Just got my EDGE A paired with the KEF K7 and its sounds and feels and looks amazing, listening to my favorite music's its just amazing, just blowed my away, i am working mostly on my computer and connected it thru USB Streaming over Amazon HD and everything sounds so clear, you can hear every detail and so well balanced its amazing, its so hard to describe how it sounds and feels, the best way would be, its like your sitting next to the musicians, just thinking already to get the EDGE W to Bi-Amp the KEF R7 :-)
