If you wish to connect the Edge NQ to an integrated amplifier rather than a power amplifier, the streaming functionality can be used independently of the preamplifier. The preamplifier can be disabled via the dedicated Edge app for iOS and Android.
Edge systems are designed to work in perfect synchronisation. Match the Edge NQ with our highest performing power amplifier, Edge W, to create a hi-fi system with a sound, and a look, unlike anything else.
I've had this Cambridge Edge NQ in demo at the beginning of this year for almost one month and I didn't like the whole concept. At first everything sounds and looks ok, like in most of the reviews. The problems start when you're more demanding and discovering it's problems. 80% are software problems with volume jumping, communication between the Edge and my iPhone, software that blocks the whole player, the app that stopped suddenly, Tidal does't start up, presets of the tuner that are lost, ... Not my cup of tea. Build quality is superb but Cambridge has still some serious homework for this one.
Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing and if you could email us at [email protected] we would be more than happy to help.
After some trying and error with the software, that is way to difficult, I tried to use both optical-in digital, and both gave problems. Clicking, no sound, .... Not a good job Cambridge. Why isn't youtube working? This must be better for such an expensive machine. After 2 days of demo I gave it back. The sound is ok !
There is NO logic in the software. It changed already serval time, and seldom for the good! No digital output for an external DAC: what would be the cost of that Cambridge? 25 euro? What a missed chance. Als lots of bugs in the software. I've seen soms videos in Youtube that are recognisable.

I bought my edge NQ a year ago and I'm very happy with it. Sounds great, works perfectly with all my different formats. And since the device is roon ready it is even more perfect for me. It's an amazing streamer with a lot of great features.
Thank's Cambridge audio - great job!!
