Edge NQ boasts the very latest version of our award-winning streaming module. Designed in-house, right here in the UK, it features a new, faster chipset and support for both 24bit/192kHz and DSD128 files. The addition of Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, AirPlay, Bluetooth aptX HD and Internet radio means you can enjoy your music whatever the source. Roon Ready certification enhances your browsing experience.
Thanks to Chromecast Built-in hundreds of music services, including Sirius XM & Soundcloud, can be enjoyed on the Edge NQ. Just tap the cast button in your favourite app to stream music from your smartphone, tablet or laptop in stunning high definition sound, up to 24bit/96kHz.
If you wish to connect the Edge NQ to an integrated amplifier rather than a power amplifier, the streaming functionality can be used independently of the preamplifier. The preamplifier can be disabled via the dedicated Edge app for iOS and Android.
Edge systems are designed to work in perfect synchronisation. Match the Edge NQ with our highest performing power amplifier, Edge W, to create a hi-fi system with a sound, and a look, unlike anything else.

What a very stupid idea! Setup network... app on iOS or Android! Turn ON/OFF display - only in app on iOS or Android. Select radio station - only in app on iOS or Android. Play music from HDD in USB - app on iOS or Android... CXN don't need any app to normally functions! Not recommended EDGE NQ!
Upgraded from 851N and it was Well worth the cost: musicality is far better. The Stream Magic app and Edge app can be used interchangeably; in my experience (iPad5) for 1st time setup the Stream Magic is better but for internet radio And daily use the Edge is more suitable. Chromecast was a bit glitchy for me (cropped out intermittently) and I was not very happy with the Tidal integration into the Edge app - resorted using the Tidal app directly. Can’t differentiate between the Chromecast and Airplay2 = both deliver what I want.

I was looking for an upgrade to my 851n and logically thought the bigger, newer model from the same maker would be the place to start.
Richer Sounds loaned me the streamer for 2 weeks to use in my system.
I returned it after 5 days, I wasn’t convinced the sound was any better than the 851n when connected to the Roksan Blak amp I use.
But the Edge has no provision for digital XLR connection which I use for my CD, also lacks a digital output so no chance of upgrading to a better DAC in the future.
I didn’t require the pre amp function so decided I’d be better spending the £3500 cost of the Edge on a stand alone streamer which I did(Naim ndx2)
Ex demo,
WOW, better on all fronts, app is better, but the sound is head and shoulders above the edge.
My advice if you don’t need a pre amp is the Naim.
