Soundwave Sessions – Cambridge Audio’s 50th Celebrations

Earlier this month we kicked off our inaugural Soundwave Session at our Melomania venue directly situated below our London HQ. The event brought together the world of art and music in celebration of great British talent and the pioneering innovations in audio technology we’ve been known for since our humble beginnings in 1968.

As guests entered the venue, the exclusively commissioned artwork from contemporary urban artist Wildcat Will was proudly on show. The piece titled ‘We All Want to Change the World’ was inspired by The Beatles 1968 track ‘Revolution, as the centre of the piece features the songs soundwave, (much like the Jumpin’ Jack Flash piece) with a collage of pop culture references reflecting the era’s spirit of peace, love, equality, protest and innovation. It even features the iconic P40 amplifier, the first product we ever created. The piece was auctioned off with 100% of proceeds going directly to Teenage Cancer Trust.

Cambridge Audio MD Stuart George

This is fast turning into a truly special year for Cambridge Audio. As we continue our celebrations across 2018, we are excited about the forthcoming release of more new product innovations and further special events to mark our golden anniversary”.

Stuart George, MD

Once guests had visited the bar and picked up a refreshment supplied by Silent Pool Gin and Brewdog. MD Stuart George kicked off proceedings with an introduction to the evening, Cambridge Audio and the night’s entertainment. Prog rock songwriter Steven Young treated the room to a mesmerising collection of psychedelic tunes taken directly from his 2015 album ‘Moveable Feast’ with a unique cover of ‘Revolution’ to close out the set. Guests were also treated to a listening session in our demo room featuring the multi award-winning CX series and Aeromax speakers.

All in all, a great night to kick off our 50th anniversary year! We’ll be hosting another two Soundwave Sessions later on in the year with more amazing live music and even sneak previews of new product coming out later this year. There’s be a chance to win tickets to these events, so keep an eye on our social accounts for your chance to be here next time.
